About businesses that designate as Diverse-owned on Instagram
This feature is currently available to businesses with shops on Instagram in the US and Brazil that designate as Diverse-owned. At this time, shops in Brazil can choose to have a Black-owned business label.
Businesses with shops (known as shops) on Instagram can designate as Diverse-owned.
When a shop designates as Diverse-owned, a diverse business category label will appear on its profile and product pages.
Diverse-owned categories
We offer the following diverse business categories. Shops may select more than one category:
  • Asian-owned
  • Black-owned
  • Disabled-owned
  • Latin-owned
  • Indigenous-owned
  • LGBTQ+ owned
  • Middle Eastern-owned
  • Pacific Islander-owned
  • Women-owned
  • Veteran-owned
Only the category that the shop selects first will be displayed as a label on the shop’s profile and product pages.
View business diversity info
Shops that designate as Diverse-owned will have all of their diverse business categories added to their business diversity info.
To view business diversity info:
  1. Go to the Instagram profile of a shop.
  2. Tap ig-three-dots in the top right.
  3. Tap About this account.
  4. Tap Business diversity info.
